Prices and booking

Venue and dates

Wild Twins is five full days long, plus an introductory dinner and a farewell breakfast. It begins on the evening of Saturday 5th May 2018. You will need to be on the island in time for dinner on that day. The course ends mid-morning on Friday 11th May, giving you plenty of time to get home.

The venue for the course is Sherkin North Shore, on Sherkin Island. Comfortable accommodation, with bedding, towels etc is included in the course price. You will be sleeping in shared rooms with one other person (of the same sex). Good food – three hearty meals a day plus tea and snacks – are of course provided too.

Sherkin is accessible by a regular ten-minute ferry trip from the town of Baltimore in West Cork. Full travel details and directions will be provided when you book, as will a kit list of what to bring with you.

If you have any further questions, please drop us a line.

Cost and places

Wild Twins is no ordinary course. People who work with words will be responding to images; people who work with images will be responding to words. In this way, everyone will be stretched, stimulated and challenged – by the works of others, and by the place itself.

For this reason, we are looking for a balance of writers and artists. We have eight places for writers and eight for artists. Of course, some writers may also be visual artists, and vice versa, and that’s fine. Nevertheless, when you book a place, we’re asking you to book either as primarily a writer or a visual artist.

The cost of the course, including food and accommodation, is €950 (approximately £840, or $1100).

How to book

To book a place on the course, we require a non-refundable deposit of €350. The remainder of the fee will be due four months before the course begins.

To book a place please click here to send us an email. Please state in your email whether you’d like to come as a writer or an artist.

You can pay either by direct bank transfer, in Euro or Sterling, or by sending us a cheque.

Cancellation policy

Because of the costs and risks of booking the venue at a busy time of year, and the complexity of organising and gathering materials for the course, we have to be strict about payments and refunds. As such, this is how our policy works:

On booking: €350 non-refundable deposit required.

Four months before course begins: Remaining €600 payment required.

Cancellation: If you cancel your booking before paying the full fee, your deposit will not be returned. If you cancel after paying the full fee, we will return the your money, less the deposit, if we can find another person to take your place, which we will try hard to do. If we cannot fill the place, no money will be returned.
