Spirit

What lies beneath? I have never been a scientific materialist, and I don’t believe that secular liberalism is anything more than a blip in the long road of human history; a road directed by something way beyond and above us. No society can survive long without some understanding of the divine, and some obedience to its will. We are finding this out the hard way.

My writing tends more in this direction as the years go on. In 2021 I became, somewhat to my own surprise, an Orthodox Christian; you can read more about this below in ‘The Cross and the Machine.’ Since then, my writing has focused - and will contonue to focus - on the nature and depth of modernity’s spiritual crisis, and how it underpins all I have ever really written about.
